William J. O’Connor

Chief Executive Officer

Bill O’Connor serves as Chief Executive Officer and sole owner of OC Reilly, Inc., providing leadership and guidance to the firm and its team in the service of customers.  Drawing on nearly four decades of first-hand success, Bill’s approach to developing and implementing solid, relevant solutions for health care customers rests on the same solid foundation used since he formed the company in 2005—to enable meaningful business improvement by reducing overall spend, enhancing revenue, and maintaining quality patient care.

The financial bottom-line performance of some major U.S. health care systems has improved by hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to Bill’s insight and impact.  The practical, hands-on approach practiced by Bill and the entire OC Reilly team has proven to be a highly workable and ultimately profitable formula that has enhanced customer results and permitted OC Reilly to grow, both financially and geographically.

Prior to forming OC Reilly, Bill directed corporate supply chain for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), responsible for an annual spend of approximately $1 billion, as well as for asset inventories and expensed supply locations exceeding $150 million at nearly 600 locations. Bill founded and led Provider Supply Chain Partners, serving the Allegheny Health Network and more than 50 Pittsburgh-area hospitals.  He has served in leadership positions with many industry associations. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

“The health care industry has gone through more challenging changes over the years than nearly any other business,” he said.  “It has been very gratifying to see that our approach to customer service, based on applying first-hand knowledge and experience, has always proven to be the best way to go, no matter what may be happening to the health care sector at any given time.  It is a true blessing to work with this team and to serve such a great collection of customers.”
